The Descent 2
Step Up 3
Grown Ups

Piranha
Cats and Dogs: The Revenge Of Kitty Galore
Going The Distance
Resident Evil: Afterlife
Devil
Revenge Of King Cobra

&
Legend Of The Guardians: The Owls Of Ga'hoole

I think that's it.. I think.. haha...

Legend Of The Guardians: The Owls Of Ga'hoole

This was the last movie i saw before I went on holiday after my final exams.. (now=holiday!)

There was of course a LOT more movies before that, heck, even in that week itself... I tend to watch more movies in exam week coz I can't study without the entertainment in between... 5 hours of study n 1 movie~~ huhuuu

Okay, back to Legend Of The Guardians: The Owls Of Ga'hoole...

The movie has a 3D version, but as always coz I'm a stingy movie addict, I watched the non-3D version.... mostly since I thought the graphics was damn beautiful, even without the 3D.... and I was right of coz! :P

there was a slight disturbance in the cinema since this IDIOT slept and didn't put his phone on silent mode... f****r!!! hahaha... i hate these ignorant people.. I was trying to have a good time...

Anyways, the movie was beautiful! the story line was good... the actions was great i guess, if u can imagine how owls would fight in the air.... huhuu... the graphics was superb... the morality was definitely there... touching family, brotherhood, childhood fantasies, trying to be brave in the face of danger, and pushing yourself to the limit.... the ending strongly suggest there be a sequel to this one.. I'll be there to watch it hopefully... :)

A good watch... just try to come during school time or something... noisy kids ruins everything! *sue me, i hate noisy kids, especially in cinema!*

The Backup Plan

Venue: MBO Melaka Mall
Date: 1 July 2010
Time: 6.15pm
Company: cik Mira
its been too long since last posted... don't know why im getting lazier, and since my netbook is officially broken, i don't really have the means to write anyway.. sori, but i hope to make it all up in these few days... :P
A spur at the moment and surprised that I forgot the movie was coming out today, I jumped at the chance to see it as early as it can get...

The movie was moving rather slow at the beginning, but somehow the starting feels a little too sudden and fast. The second part was regretfully, a bit too slow suddenly, then it went into 5th gear again... yeah, it was a bit confusing..

The attempts at making jokes didn't work out at first, but it got more convincingly funny to the end of the movie...
Strirred up all kinds of emotion from me... sad, romantic, touching, happy, and frustrated in just 2 hours..
great watch with the gurlz on a girls night out...

-- Quickies --

:P

im too lazy.. so here goes all the quickies!!! :P

Robin Hood- awesome medieval time action/war/romance movie... definitely recommend to watch..

A Nightmare On Elm Street- the scare comes from the suspense n gore!! if that's ur thing, than this is it. Nice for first dates.. :P

Shrek Forever After: 3D- Not as comical and belly tickling as the last 2, yet touching us all in different new ways..... a bit too serious of issues for children in my opinion.. :P

Furry Vengeance- super hilarious!!!! do i need to say more? :P

Belukar- I thought it was a horror, turns out it's a criminal planning movie, almost like 'the Italian job' or something.... but they steal from the bad boss... very nice plot for a local movie... i was pleasantly surprised!

***

The Karate Kid- a nice movie, not at all comparable to the first ever karate kid though.... and it's Kung Fu~~~ it's NOT karate.... *weird*

Nanny McPhee n the Big Bang- very entertaining.... hilarious and full of serious life lessons at the same time.... dealing with a divorce in the world war age is really almost no difference than nowadays~~ and sappy romantic happy endings has always been my favorite.. :P

The A-Team- it was almost like sitting in a roller coaster at funfair, except it felt even more fun and there's more adrenaline pumping through my body... and it's not even 3D at all.... action junkies can't miss this at all...

Prince Of Persia- whatever is meant to happen, would happen anyway, one way or another.. :P... Love, time travel, war, and throne stealer are everywhere and making me dizzy.... a bit confusing at first, but then ALL my questions are answered, so good... *i don't like unanswered questions in a movie, drives me crazy*

The Killers- i have to confess that i watched it for the purpose of looking at Ashton's hot body... but the action is good, it was funny and exciting, but a bit annoying too.... :P but u'll see a side of both Ashton and Katherine that i've never seen in before in their previous movies...

Sex and The City 2

I'm getting lazier to post here since my broadband modem was broken a few weeks ago, but now that I've bought a new one, hope i'll post more often ok? :P

Venue: GSC Dataran Pahlawan
Date: 22 June 2010
Time: 9.15pm
Company: cik Mira

A confusion made me have to pay twice the price of the tickets cos we mistakenly bought the movie tickets twice! hahaa... :P with that accident, i went in the cinema with a higher expectation than what i came with trying to justify paying RM16 for a non-3D movie!

The movie starts off nostalgically.... trying to accommodate even the ones who came to watch that don't have a clue what this 'Sex and the City' is all about at all.... a little recap can go a long way.. :P

The plot was not surprising, yet didn't bore me. The outfits, was as always, outrageous as ever. The girls are trying to defy getting older, like they always try to. Marriage conflicts though were dealt with more in this installment as 3 of the girls are already married now. In Abu Dhabi, where most of the film was shot, issues relating to oppression of sexual freedom and women as second class are seen and handled with a comic twist, yet still feels very serious and the message was clearly send across, to me atleast. Some motherhood troubles are at bay, and girl to girl talk always saves the day. Lots of homosexuality was also present and got me thinking whether it has anything to do with recent same-sex marriage recognition in the US these last few months.....

I love the soundtrack that sounds fresh and new with a few top pop chart numbers that got me singing along. The locations where the movie was shot were simply breathtakingly beautiful. It is indeed 'The New Middle East' :P

All in all, i would say that it was not disappointing, yet not a letdown. After all, since when did a sequel ever surpass the original anyway??? Especially since this one was originally a 5 season drama~~

p.s- i'll post all the quickie reviews of all the movies i saw in between this and the last review in a while.... hehee :P

Exam week!

I've been not posting for quite a while because of exam week.... but since now that it's over... let's just recap what movie i saw but was too lazy to post here since the last one.. (hooperz)

(in no particular order since i can't remember)

Robin Hood
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Shrek forever after: 3D
When in Rome (again)
Furry Vengeance
Belukar

that's it I think.....

got a throbbing headache now... gonna post the reviews individually later... much later.. :P

??Hooperz??

Venue: MBO Melaka Mall
Date: 3/05/2010
Time: 2pm (right after i finish typing a due essay :P)

i know2.... what was i thinking right???????????? exactly! I would have been better off re-watching Iron Man, Kick-Ass, The Losers, When In Rome or even watch Ice Kacang Puppy Love~~ hahahaa...

i used the member's waiting room at MBO to finish my due essay, so i felt guilty if i did not watch any movie...

Statement= it was soo stupid that i laughed and it was soo bad that it hurts.. :P

Bullsh** of a movie, cr**.... seriusly.... don't ever go watch!!! even if you are a big fan of any of the actors in it.. you would hate each and every one of them in the end for even agreeing to act for this one...

first, the plot was all over the place... the ugly GCI didn't help either... there are too much focus on all the characters that none of them got the proper character development needed, maybe just the team captain, yet that is even still weak... the 'coach D' character was given an introduction, but was cut off before we could figure out any real facts....

I can't find anything good to say about this movie at all... sorry :P

and oh yeah, the romance in this movie is SUPER awkward...

it's simple to say that there are a LOT of unfinished business in this movie, yet if they ever get the funding to do a sequel, i'm the first one to swear out!!!

p.s- *spolier?* what's with the super ugly and idiotic 'joker' right before every game starts????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? that made me want to puke.

p.s.s- i DONT hate malay movies btw.... just that not much came up to my standards :P

The Losers :P

Venue: MBO Melaka Mall
Date: 22nd April 2010
Company: PMS and depression mode~

I forgot to write about THE LOSERS that i saw before this... don't know why i forgot, it was an awesome action movie... maybe because i was crying quarter of the time... huhuu.. *this movie won't make you cry though*

As usual, the quick fix for my depression mode is= movie alone! huhuu... and what a pleasant surprise that The Losers was in cinema that day.. (i heard on 8tv quickie that The Losers didn't come out yet after i had already seen it= weird!)

true to its R rating in the USA, this is NOT a movie to bring ur kids to... especially if they're under 13 years old, not that you could sneak in a baby in this one...

Zoe Saldana is REALLY skinny btw... haha..

Super movie for the action addicts out there... and does satisfy my drama hunger side too... :P

The movie has a super evil villain that is apparently an environmentalist! hahaha...

super hot s** scene between zoe and jeffrey~~ *sorry im spoiling a bit :P*

and ofcourse..... super huge guns and explosives and even superbly on aim shooting!!!

the losers is definitely no laughing matter.... :)

even if they are THE LOSERS, they sure are HOT losers!!!!! :P

Iron Man 2

Venue: MBO Melaka Mall
Date: 29 April 2010
Time: 6.15pm

Company: Arul n her sis

The movie that we have been waiting to come out.... like any other sequel, it does not live up to its expectation... i guess... although i must say that the high tech really does turn me on.. hahha...

I did not come in late to the cinema, but somehow i noticed a scene that was in the trailer was missing in the whole movie.. weird.. the scene where his assistant (Gwyneth Paltrow) kisses his helmet right before he took a plunge out the airplane... if anyone saw the movie and noticed the scene though, please do tell... huhuu

as that was the first screening of the movie in MBO, u can guess that the hall was packed almost full.. since i came with Arul and her sis, i had to take a seat almost near the upper end of the hall (not my favourite place to be) it was okay though, but the screen did seem a bit small from that far... there was a family who brought a baby along infront, and kept passing the baby back and forth from the front seat to 2 seats in front... but thankfully, the baby didn't cry at all or i would have had to be a lil evil... hehehee...

Overall, it was quite an enjoyable movie... quite unbelievable in the tech n science theories, but it IS a movie after all... to be taken to some place you may never go, that is what i have always imagine the movies that i watched do to me... they take me where i cannot go.. no matter physically, mentally, psychologically, socially, or even technology wise... :P

for those who have watched Iron Man, the logical step is to watch this movie no matter what the critics have to say about it... that's what i think at least... why let someone else opinions get to your head?? experience it yourself and then make up your mind.. no two minds think alike right??

Have fun! though u might want to wait a bit until the crowd subside on this one since watching a movie with a lot of distractions is not the way to go... :P

When In Rome

Venue: MBO Melaka Mall

Date: 27/4/2010

Time: 7.15pm

Company: Arul

I regretted not watching this movie earlier... it was SUPER funny!!!! and as the hall of MBO cinema is always near empty, only my laughter and maybe another one or two person are heard above the sounds form the speaker... huhuu...

the storyline was bit confusing and making us guess leading to the end of the movie, but it was all worth it! :P

even minor characters made an impact on screen although they only appear merely seconds... the character that i felt was the funniest= the magicians helper with the camera!! (you'll know what i'm talking about if you watch it..)

and the ticket was only RM7 each... maybe because the movie has been on for quite some time...

and i think Josh Duhamel could not get any hotter than in 'Las Vegas' but he did!! in this movie, he appeared more romantic and sweet though... :) i want the pic of him in the movie though... super HOT...

this is not really a movie just for the romantic at heart... also for those looking for a good belly laugh after a bad day... or just for having fun with friends.... :P

Kick A**

Venue: MBO Melaka Mall
Time: 1.45pm
Company: popcorn n pepsi :P

I was in a hurry for this one as it was already 1.45pm by the time. Bought popcorn set with pepsi.... yeah, i cheated on my diet! hahaa...

I had a choice to see either this or When In Rome actually, but seeing the 18SG rating, i thought this would be more fun to watch alone, and When In Rome is a romantic story, so I'll save that one for later. As the rating suggests, this movie is no usual comic book adaptation.... personally, it's even more gruesome than any comic book adaptation ever, even Dark Knight!

After just about 5 minutes into the movie, I was already greeted by a shocking scene... huhuu.. suspense for you guys okay? The whole movie was very enjoyable though... there's a bit of teenage romance, a touch of humanity, and a damn lot of actions and blood! The ending does suggest there might be a sequel... so I'll definitely be waiting eagerly to watch it if it ever came to be... :)

Definitely go watch!!!!! Only if you're over 18 though, and not pregnant, and don't have a high risk of getting heart attack....

:P

#update#

i went to watch kick-ass again yesterday with Arul... it IS a very entertaining movie!

on to some points that i missed on the first review... the soundtrack for this movie is f***ing awesome! the sounds might not blend right with each other if you listen to it all, but its surprisingly a perfect fit for each of its scene's... and this movie does give you the pit feeling in your stomach at the end.... now i just wish that the board of censoring in Malaysia is not so harsh.... it's already a 18SG movie, why still censor many scenes?? just make it a 18PL than... it has already been censored overseas you know.... hmmm... i need to find the uncensored version!!!

:P

Semerah Cinta Stiletto (Love as Red as Stiletto)

It's been long since i saw a Malay movie... :P

Venue: MBO Melaka Mall
Time: 7.00pm
Date: 14/04/2010
Company: none
Payment Method: MBO membership card!!!

atlast i made the MBO membership card! :D

huhuu... it functions like a TnG card... just reload for credit, and u can buy tickets without queing from a machine, and there's even a VIP waiting area~~~ :P

anyway, the movie was OK, funny, but the storyline is typical and quite lame... sometimes the comedic performance is a little over done, could be toned down a bit, as it sometimes gets annoying!

anyway, other than that, a Cinderella-like movie for happy endings lovers! :P

sensible and a good quality for a local film... not bad

Date Night!

SUPER HILARIOUS!!!

Venue: MBO Melaka Mall
Time: 5.15pm
Date: 12/04/2010
Company: Arul

went shoe shopping (bought a new BUM sneakers) n after that, the usual movie dose with Arul... huhuu.... i actually wanted to make a membership card with MBO just now, but there's a technical problem, so that intention had to be postponed~

so.. we arrived quite early, went walking n eating dripping hot chocolate waffles until the movie screening time...

then bought 2 cold mineral water (both on a diet??) and small popcorn (weird for me!!) n off we went...

btw, this movie was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was super hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!! me and Arul couldn't stop laughing in the hall... luckily there was almost no one.. or reali no one? else in the cinema.... huhuu

it also has a bit of a reference to this old movie i saw a few weeks back on tv2.... The Goodfellas!!!!!!! yes, that's it... the actor Ray Liotta who played Henry Hill in that movie made on the year i was born (1990 :P) had quite a similar mafia gangster head role in this movie, making me nostalgic~~ huhu... *but his face looks sooo botox!! haha*

anyway, anyone up for a good coming from the belly laugh, this is the answer to ur problems!!! especially anyone just coming out from any major exams! enjoy~~~

:P

Shokojo Seira

alternate title= A Little Princess

Quite a turn from mostly the love stories that i have been watching lately... this is a drama though... and it has been quite long also since the last time i saw a japanese drama... haha... movies are easier, coz they would end in about 2 hours!!! :P

anyway, this drama is an adaptation from an english movie (a classic, old one that i remember watching like a distant memory~)... the storyline was alomost the same, except it was given a little japanese twist, and a teenage romance :D (yes, this is actually the reason i seek out this drama to watch)... I haven't finished watching it though, coz its soo hard to find videos in the net anymore, especially since Veoh is no longer available in Malaysia ( i wonder WHO made that happen???)

gonna be super and hyper frustrated in a few coming days since i'll be itching to finish watching this drama~~ :P

Don't Laugh At My Romance

hahhahahaha...... funny title.. the alternate is = Sex Is No Laughing Matter!!!

but apart from the title, the rest was not that funny.... emotionally strong, touches a lot of sensitive issues.... like loving a friend, one sided love, an affair with someone's wife, a young man with a much older woman, a love triangle??(i think it more... like 4 or 5 sides..),and many more... :P

46 Billion Years of Love

My obsession to Japanese has kicked back in!!! hehhee.... this movie's alternate title is 'Big Bang Love'.... very2 strong... very artistic?? also have lots of confusion on the time setting part... it keeps on going back and forth between past, present and future... but when you're the kind of person that enjoys a good movie, a good art.... this is definitely for you! haha... that's me i guess... the love in this movie was just too strong for anyone to understand, hence the title... i guess what this movie is trying to portray is too much love in that one instant... just that one hug... that hand that wipes away your tears... in that few seconds, billions of love was poured.... for these two characters who is in prison for murder, a love like that seems surreal for them to achieve, but they did far better than just normal romance... they had a LOVE that last, well, billions of years later.... :)

its movies like this that makes me want a love like that too... huh... :P

Cyborg Girl

haha.... i have this sudden spur of obsession to watch japanese movies.... :P

This movie is a bit twisted in terms of time setting... there's 2 different heroins actually, but that part was not explained that well.... i was a bit confused at the ending.... I LOVE Keisuke Koide though.... he's such a cutie... and he can act really2 good too... huhuu :P and oh, the girl plating the cyborg is Haruka Ayase...

watch!!! super funny and touching at the same time... hehehee

Clash Of The Titans

I swore to myself i wouldn't watch this movie, but here i am, writing a review on this very movie... hahaha... funny how fate comes and bites you in the a** right?? :P

Venue: MBO Melaka Mall
Date: last night (4/4/2010)
Time: 10.45pm(screening)

As usual, i was on the way back home... this time it was not from class though (i dont have class on sundays), i was back from watching a chinese orchestra concert at my uni.... it was around 10.30 at the time... i dropped off Arul to her house, and off i went... and like usual, i dont really plan to go watch a movie, my instincst just guided me.... haha...

well, for that a movie that i swore im not gonna watch, it was okay.... the stupid 'zeus' wearing the more stupid shiny suit was still = STUPID.... but the storyline was not that bad... the graphics (aside from that shiny suit) was good... the action was also good... the romance is unsatisfactory though... haha... oh yeah, there's a Queen Cassiopeia?? i remembered my best friend's fan group of DBSK was named that= Cassiopeia... hahhaa... the queen was evil though... but dont worry, she died pretty quick(sorry!! spoiler!) hahah... the rest was okay... not that much sof my time rather than me sitting at home infront of this batbook.... huhuu..

if this kind of movie interests you, go ahead... but other than absolutely accidental, i dont advice the others to watch this one.. :P i know, im soo evil right? :)

p.s- other than this movie, there was only 'how to train your dragon'... and like posted here a few days ago, i already watched that....

Someday- Rob Thomas

You can go
You can start all over again
You can try to find a way to make another day go by
You can hide
Hold all your feelings inside
You can try to carry on when all you want to do is cry

[Chorus]
And maybe someday
We'll figure all this out
Try to put an end to all our doubt
Try to find a way to make things better now and
Maybe someday we'll live our lives out loud
We'll be better off somehow
Someday

Now wait
And try to find another mistake
If you throw it all away then maybe you can change your mind
You can run, oh
And when everything is over and done
You can shine a little light on everything around you
Man it's good to be so warm

[Chorus]

And I don't want to wait
I just want to know
I just want to hear you tell me so
Give it to me straight
Tell it to me slow

Cause maybe someday
We'll figure all this out
We'll put an end to all our doubt
Try to find a way to just feel better now and
Maybe someday we'll live our lives out loud
We'll be better off somehow
Someday

[x2]
Cause sometimes we don't really notice
Just how good it can get
So maybe we should start all over
Start all over again

another one of those that can't stop haunting me... making me run in circles just to find it, and now its stuck! haha :P

How To Train Your Dragon

Venue: MBO Melaka Mall
Date: 31/03/2010
Company: ~Arul~

After class finish at 5pm, I went with Arul to Melaka Mall in hopes of catching a good movie before 8.30pm where i have an event that night. We were in luck as 'How To Train Your Dragon' was right on time with our schedule, or mora like, right on time with our arrival!! Lucky! It turns out that Arul didn't know that the movie was an animation! haha...

But it was enjoyable, and even a little surprising, in a good way! :D

even after watching the trailer lots of times, the movie still manages to surprise me! Not just for kids... its super fun for all, even those who doesn't like animations usually, like Arul... :P

Laughed a lot! Fun3x... definitely watch it!!!! hehehhe... :P

The Lovely Bones

Venue: MBO Melaka Mall
Date: 18th March 2010

Company: none

Right after my maths test, I was a bit down, but not that tired. I didn't know what to do, so as usual, I went to the cinema= the only place that can surely cheer me up... and as usual, I just went to the cinema with an empty mind... no plan of what to watch or even where to watch (i just let my hands take the wheels.. yes, it swerved left at the last moment..) I parked, went straight into MBO, went to the counter, and start planning there... what movies have i not watched?? what time would be suitable?? to buy popcorn or not?? hahaaa...

Anyways, like stated above, this time the lucky winner is THE LOVELY BONES that's directed by Peter Jackson (i didn't know he could direct such a movie.. you know, NOT Lord Of The Rings material..) I had really wanted to watch it from a long time ago, and the timing was such a perfect fit that I didn't even consider anything else... bought the tickets, popcorns and mineral water (i'm on a diet? :P) and off into hall 5... i was in just on time when the movie started...

I must say, the movie does feel a bit dragging as its almost 2 hours... as the time frame of the movie is around 2 years(?).... It was enjoyable though (in a sense when ur alone and eating popcorn)... A very thoughtful movie... very deep... very complicated.. a bit weird and quirky at times.. the scenes inside the "in betweens" was beautiful, colorful, and very vivid... you don't even need 3D to feel the effect...

Although the ending was tragic... like you would know from the beginning anyway.. (this is NOT a spoiler)... I enjoyed it thoroughly... ALONE... i just felt that this kind of movie is exactly the ones you shouldn't be watching with someone else, namely a blunt, frank or even annoying person that talks all the time.. hahaa... ( i shueesh these people talking at the back at the most crucial time to have the environment quiet!!!!!).. anyways, you can always talk/discuss about it after the movie... right?

Thumbs up to Peter Jackson and all that worked hard to make this movie a success... i certainly enjoyed it, and would be looking forward to more movies in this genre.... or maybe more Peter Jackson movie that is mellow and drama than action and fantasy..? :P

Go watch!!!

The Book Of Eli

Watched on 4th of march?? I can't even remember already... huhuu

venue: GSC Dataran Pahlawan

Came in a bit late... by the time i'm in the cinema, Eli was scrubbing his body (taking a bath?) haha.. anyway, this was also a coincidence movie.... i didn't plan to go see it at all... me and a friend just choose one that almost starts, and we both haven't watched yet...

It was a very good movie through my point of view... the cinematography was stunning... the story was solid, although i must say i find it a bit amusing and stupid! haha..

The actors was of course brilliant.. Denzel didn't look that old.. and his acting was superb, like always... the girl playing a role close to his was also not bad... Mila Kunis portrays what needed to be... and plus, her eyes are crazy beautiful... haha... Gary Oldman was also excellent... the ending was kind of surprising in a way... talking bout surprises, there's quit a lot in the movie... enough to get you excited and engaged to the screen... definitely not boring at all...

The action part was at times surreal... and it certainly brings the X-factor to this movie...

Go watch!!! guys, just don't bring your dates to this one... unless you want them to be clinging to you during the gore scenes.... :P

Life after you- Daughtry

Ten miles from town and I just broke down
Spittin' out smoke on the side of the road
I'm out here alone just tryin' to get home
To tell you I was wrong but you already know
Believe me I won't stop at nothin'
To see you so I've started runnin'

All that I'm after is a life full of laughter
As long as I'm laughing with you
I'm thinkin' that all that still matters is love ever after
After the life we've been through
'Cause I know there's no life after you

Last time we talked, the night that I walked
Burns like an iron in the back of my mind
I must've been high to say you and I
Weren't meant to be and just wasting my time
Oh, why did I ever doubt you?
You know I would die here without you

All that I'm after is a life full of laughter
As long as I'm laughing with you
I'm thinkin' that all that still matters is love ever after
After the life we've been through
'Cause I know there's no life after you

You and I, right or wrong, there's no other one
After this time I spent alone
It's hard to believe that a man with sight could be so blind
Thinkin' 'bout the better times, must've been outta my mind
So I'm runnin' back to tell you

All that I'm after is a life full of laughter
Without you God knows what I'd do

All that I'm after is a life full of laughter
As long as I'm laughing with you
I'm thinkin' that all that still matters is love ever after
After the life we've been through
'Cause I know there's no life after you

The song that's currently buzzing in my head over and over again...

Alice in Wonderland, 3D

I watched Alice in Wonderland 3D on the 8th of March with a friend...

venue : GSC Dataran Pahlawan

Since at GSC Dataran Pahlawan was the ONLY place in Malacca to have this movie in 3D, I don't have much of a choice now, do I??

I conclude the movie to be quite dissapointing, aside from the performance of MY favorite, sexy actor, Johnny Depp (yes, this could be not true.. haha)...

The 3D was not that obvious, even in the crucial fighting scenes... the storyline was a bit confusing in the beginning, turns boring and repetitive from the original to the middle of the movie, then it changes a bit, but not much excitement there on the new storyline...

It was a bit bland, and safe... with a cast of talented actors, this is definitely not what i expected at all from the movie... especially when Tim Burton is the director!!

oh, and i thought that Anne Hathaway was unsuitable, the lead actress a.k.a Alice, played by Mia Wasikowska (her name IS weird right??) was not convincing as Alice, but I think she is a fine actress that is going to be seen more and more from now...

Through all the dissapointments, I did enjoy watching this 3D movie, especially with someone beside me to share the experience with later... Go watch it once, in 3D is what I would suggest... a non-3D version might not be as enjoyable....u might regret not watching it at all.... there's Johnny Depp in it after all.. :P

Solomon Kane

Solomon Kane Picture

venue: MBO Melaka Mall
date: today

This was totally an impulse decision to go watch any movie at all, and turns out the only one available at the time and i haven't watched yet was Solomon Kane....

I had absolutely and totally no idea at all of what the movie was about... I haven't watched the trailer, nor have i read the synopsis...

It's a movie that would make you cringe... it's a movie that would make you fear... and would make you hope...

Although there's a hint of romance in the storyline, it was not pursued, hanged at the ending... and the romance was not clear... its a bit blurry on the subject of whether the characters involved are actually in love or not...

It's like in Lord of the Ring's fighting scenes.... only this time, its almost the whole movie... there's devils, witches, evil people, kings, innocent girl, nice family, priests, the church, and Solomon Kane of course....

To be honest, when the movie started, for like 5 minutes into the movie, i was not convinced that the main character is actually the hero of this movie... i even went as hated the idea and screenwriter if he really was the hero...

It does develop quite slow in the beginning... but it gets to a nice pace towards the end...

Since i watched it alone, there's no talking and questions asked in the middle of the movie, nor was there any glances while making weird faces... hahha... even the hall being almost empty didn't make any difference in the environment... there was still noises from popcorn eating (me & ??) little whispers during *those* parts, and handphone going off... the best part though, was that i had a WHOLE row all to myself, my feet was propped up nicely on the seat in front, and my handbag on the seat beside....

:P

all in: good for boys who like gore, cruel killings... demons (no angels here!)... a good watch... not a must watch, but still... go see it if you like action packed movies... its not a let down, even if you come in not knowing a thing about it... oh, and one more... the main actor is kinda unknown (to me atleast)...

Valentine's Day

venue: GSC Dataran Pahlawan

At last i got to watch 'Valentine's day' even if I'm alone~~ The movie was not the mushy2 kind i thought it would be... instead, its more mellow, and flowing smoothly like a fountain.. the star cast didn't outshine the storyline at all ( i thought it would.. since there's too much distraction??) there's no definite main character in it, as all the characters are equally covered and developed just nice for the 2 hours length. I laughed a bit... and to my surprise, i only shed a train of tears.. not much at all for me.. as i usually am quite sensitive and easily cry during movies...

All in, its a nice watch either you're with a lover, best friends, family, or alone!
